Six New Radio Licences Issued- GNBA
The Board of the Guyana National Broadcasting Authority continues to execute its mandate to regulate, supervise and develop the broadcasting sector in Guyana. In so doing, the Board issued several radio licences to eligible broadcasting Agencies today at its head office located in Queenstown, Georgetown. The following Agencies were recipients of radio licences:
- CNS Inc.
- Brutal Group Inc.
- Pinnacle Communications Inc.
- National Media & Broadcasting Company Ltd.
- Two Brothers Corporation
- Blackman and Sons Inc.
Chairman of the GNBA Board, Mr. Leslie Sobers, said the issuance of the licences was “fit and proper” given the applicants were “lingering” in the system. “And all things being considered they have brought themselves into full compliance with the regulations governing the issuance of radio licences,” He also announced that GNBA’s Board is examining moving away from annual licensing of radio frequencies. “We’re contemplating a longer period of licencing maybe two or three years for the start,” he reported.
