The Guyana National Broadcasting Authority (GNBA) joins in celebrating World Press Freedom Day.
World Press Freedom Day, observed annually on May 3rd, highlights and defends the fundamental principles of press freedom while recognising the significance of a free and independent press.
Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1993, following a recommendation by UNESCO’s General Conference, this day serves as a global reminder of the importance of press freedom.
Today, we honour the indispensable role of a free press in our society.
