Govt reconstitutes GNBA

Government on Wednesday confirmed that it has officially reconstituted the Guyana National Broadcast Authority (GNBA) Board following discussions with a few stakeholders.
The new Board is headed by Leonard Craig who confirmed that the new board members would have a series of issues to discuss in the interest of dealing with core matters under its remit.
He gave no confirmation that one of the priority areas would be revoking licences that were granted by the former People’s Progressive Party/Civic Administration.
The new Board includes veteran broadcaster Vic Insanally, Professor Rovin Deodat, former People’s National Congress Reform Member of Parliament and A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) Member Anthony Vieira, Attorney-at-Law Abiola Wong-Iniss, Sherwood Lowe and Jocelyn Josiah.
The previous Board was headed by Bibi Shaddick and included Margot Boyce, Captain Gerry Gouveia, Retired Major General Norman Mc Lean, Charles Ramson Jr, and Dr Dindyal Permaul.
