World Radio Day 2026 – Radio and Artificial Intelligence
On 13 February, the Guyana National Broadcasting Authority (GNBA) joins the global community in observing World Radio Day under the theme “Radio and Artificial Intelligence.”
This year’s theme highlights the evolving relationship between radio broadcasting and emerging technologies. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly influencing how content is produced, distributed, and accessed—supporting news gathering, audience engagement, translation services, archiving, and data analysis.
As radio continues to adapt within a rapidly changing digital landscape, it remains one of the most trusted and accessible forms of media. The integration of AI presents opportunities to enhance efficiency and innovation, while reinforcing the core principles of accuracy, fairness, accountability, and public interest broadcasting.
The GNBA encourages broadcasters to embrace technological advancement responsibly, ensuring that the use of AI aligns with established broadcasting standards and safeguards the integrity of content.
On World Radio Day, we recognise the enduring relevance of radio in informing, educating, and connecting communities across Guyana and around the world.
